With right shoulder fatigue, the Giants replaced him with right-handed starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani and placed him on the 15-day injured list (backdated to July 2).

Since being listed as injured on June 23rd due to a left hamstring injury, Yastrzemski has remained out.

Yaz had hoped the relatively minor injury would prevent a stint on the injured list, but the Giants decided to give him some further rest.

In 55 games this season, Yastrzemski has hit.259/.324/.482 with 12 doubles, a triple, and ten home homers.

Yaz joined the Giants in 2019, and since then, he has undoubtedly been the team's most reliable player.
